Patty Williams
Co-owner | Farmer | Fiber Educator
Patty Williams is co-owner of Aker Fiber Farm and, by her own admission, responsible for most of the human-generated trouble. With over 40 years of fiber arts experience, 30 years of teaching, and more than 15 years of farming, Patty brings together skill, history, and hands-on practice in everything she does.
She creates farm products, teaches classes and workshops, delivers lectures, and is always eager to talk fiber processes, sheep, flax and linen, and textile history—wherever and whenever the opportunity arises.

Tiana St. James
Resident Fiber Artist & Educator
Tiana St. James is Aker Fiber Farm’s resident fiber artist, with over 25 years of fiber arts experience and 20 years of teaching. If Farmer Patty doesn’t know how to do something with fiber, Tiana does. Together, they form a dynamic and entertaining teaching team, known for their depth of knowledge and love of sharing it.

Sheep
Our flock is largely Corriedale sheep, a dual-purpose breed valued for both meat and wool. Corriedales produce a medium to fine fleece with a staple length of approximately 3½–4 inches. At Aker Fiber Farm, our focus is on the wool and its transformation into high-quality fiber and yarn.

Mister
Retired Livestock Guardian
Mister is our retired livestock guardian dog, a Great Pyrenees trusted by every ewe to watch over the lambs. These days, he enjoys lunch outings with Farmer Tom and can often be found napping in the side yard.

Hank & Darling Dear (“Dee”)
Livestock Guardians
Hank and Darling Dear (Dee) are AKC-registered Great Pyrenees and a bonded working pair. Now retired from breeding, they remain active as livestock guardians and are frequently seen patrolling the pastures—or keeping a close eye on the farmers.

Tubs & Baabs
Livestock Guardians in Training
Tubs and Baabs are our youngest guardian dogs and are often found trailing behind Hank and Dee across the fields. If there is mischief afoot, these two are usually involved.

Pip
Farm Helper
Pip, our Border Collie, assists with daily farm tasks and is Patty’s constant companion. He is frequently reminded that he is the smartest Border Collie on the farm—a title he holds by default, as he is the only one. Pip remains convinced he is simply a slightly unusual Great Pyrenees.

Tom
Farmer | Builder | Problem Solver
Tom works behind the scenes at Aker Fiber Farm as Patty’s husband, partner, and co-worker of more than 20 years. From building projects and animal care to brainstorming solutions, Tom supports every aspect of the farm—often accompanied by several Great Pyrenees offering their own opinions on how the work should be done.
